Sparx
Sparx is an e-therapy point and click adventure game set in a fantasy setting with 7 levels each designed teach players different cognitive behavioral therapy techniques. It was designed by Metia Interactive along side a team of doctors at University of Auckland as an engaging resource for teenagers dealing with depression which was recognised by the British Medical Journal. It continues to be used today and has received multiple versions targeting different groups, countries and languages and a sequel was developed.
Michael was responsible for the overall game design and assisting the doctors to convert therapy concepts into gameplay, level design and gameplay scripting, user interface design and translations and 3D character rigging and animation.
