Star 86
Star 86 was a music themed Massively Multiplayer 3D Virtual World for children developed by Drumleaf created using the Unity game engine.
Michael joined the team as an artist and level designer to help provide regular new content for the in-game shop and game worlds. He had to quickly learn their character art production pipe line (where designs needed to be projected onto multiple body types) and art style to provide new props and costumes packs for their existing character designs. The more girl friendly assets he was tasked with creating for the store proved to be quite popular within the games community.
He was also able to learn their custom built level design and visual gameplay scripting tools in order to help create new game worlds, new puzzles and improve the game’s onboarding process. This also lead to becoming involved in the studios development of a prototype called UNIVERSE CITY built on the tools they had developed for Star 86.
